Of all the cakes and pies I bake, nothing announces the promise of Christmas as much as my first batch of Deep Filled Mince Pies. A generous dollop of my rich fruity mincemeat encased in crisp buttery pastry, delicious warm with cream, they always do good.

That title of the review is a marketing strategy used in the 1980s UK to advertise Mr Kipling products. And, in 2025, it still holds true. You see more of Walkers mince pies on U.S. shelves but Kiplings are $6 cheaper from FoodIreland in NY compared to where I live in NY. And they're the same size. I guess that makes them luxury mince pies too.I like to take 2 pies and drown them in heavy whipping cream for a hearty treat. Just don't tell my Doctor.

Mince pies are part of our traditional ChristmasTea. Mr Kipling is our favorite. Delicious pastry crust, rich fruit mincemeat. Cannot be beaten. Thanks to Food Ireland for their economical prices.
