Have you ever wondered how we got the "Club" in the name "Club Orange"? One of the best known of Dublin Gentlemen's Clubs, the Kildare Street Club, was responsible. It was their governing committee in the 1930's who commissioned C & C to create an orange drink bearing their club's name, the title was abbreviated to "Club".
At the time the Kildare Street Club was just across the road from what was then the C & C Dublin factory. Most of the former site is now occupied by the Setanta Centre which includes the Kilkenny Shop, the Confederation of Irish Industry headquarters, one of Dublin's first underground car parks and several Government departments.
