A Wedge, Some Talk and a Tipple. Like its
sister city, Dubliner is a unique cheese that can take on many faces. Its
mature, complex character makes it a sophisticated addition to any traditional
cheese plate, while its sweet aftertaste invites hungry snackers and cheese
aficionados alike.
It goes without saying that the biggest fans of Dubliner cheese are Dubliners
themselves. Best known for their appreciation of the classic pub and beguiling
conversation that generously flows from a finely pulled Guinness, Dubliners also
know that a city surrounded by rolling hills, plush pastures and a sparkling bay
naturally lends its name to a great cheese.
A Taste of History
Over the past thousand years or so, Dublin has been home to Celts, Romans,
Vikings and Englishman. In hopes of sharing this diverse history with the world,
we created a cheese that celebrates the many flavors of Dublin's forefathers.
While its uniqueness is difficult to describe, Dubliner cheese has a hard
texture, not unlike a cheddar, but with the sweet, nutty taste of a swiss and
the piquant flavor of an aged Italian-type cheese.
Bringing a Taste of Dublin Home
When contemplating how to best enjoy Dubliner cheese, the first question to ask
yourself is, "What would James Joyce do?" While actual historical records are
scarce, we imagine he'd slice a fair-size chunk onto a plate, pair it with a
stout-hearted brew and some old buddies from his Belvedere days, and make an
evening of it.
Looking for a creative twist to your favorite
entrees? Dubliner is your cheese. Besides making a killer grilled cheese, it
melts beautifully into any recipe. Grate it up and use it in place of dried
Parmesan on pasta. But be forewarned, after you taste the difference you'll
never go back.
Other pairings you might enjoy with your
Dubliner cheese:
A glass of Merlot, Cabernet or an oaky Chardonnay, crusty, rustic hand-shaped
bread - sliced thick and Barlett or Anjou Pears.

I can't get enough of this cheese. I used to have constant access to it in Chicago, but I can't find it where I live in New Jersey and miss it horribly! It's great on pizza, on pasta, on crackers. It's fantastic with jam or meat. I'm so happy to have found this website - now I can order it for a special occasion!

I love the nutty flavor! It rounds out a nice light lunch of Dubliner, Andoui, and Granny Smith Apples.

This cheese is astounding! try it alone and the taste is one way. With turkey it takes on a nutty flavour, with an hint of spice. The only reason it does not get a 5, is I rather like the tang, and salt of a good Danablu. This cheese would be great in fondue or rarebit, just about any recipe

This is our favorite cheese, and it goes well with a variety of food & drink. It is especially fine when accompanied by a tall, cold glass of Moose Drool.

A current favorite of my wife and I...
Wonderful on flat bread, or alone...
Not overbearing, but has a clean, tangy aftertaste... no bite, but reminds one of a lite sharp, with nutty overtones...
Very nice...
